Sister Tate: Pure Goodness

Though somewhat quiet in nature, Sister Tate's love for her husband, family, ward members, and the Lord could be seen and heard loudly by all. Her sense of humor and optimism encouraged many of us. We greatly appreciate her genuine support, especially as many of us faced new challenges through school, work, and other activities/events. Many considered Sister Tate as a second mother. She reminder us of the love and concern of our families, which for some of us, lived far away.

The BYU 22nd Ward grew very close together, and this was greatly due to the love and concern of a wonderful Bishopbric and their wives. It was their own love and unity that permeated and strengthened the ward.

We remember Sister Tate to be one of the sweetest women, and yet it seemed that Sister Tate grew even sweeter and sweeter in her final months. Never complaining, Sister Tate would be quick to share how her experience strengthened her relationship with the Savior. Thank you Sister Tate for teaching us about true endurance to the end. We love you, we love Bishop Tate, and we love your family.

Please share your memories of Sister Tate and your warm wishes for the Tate family by adding your comment to this message.

Each life that touches ours for good
Reflects thine own great mercy, Lord.
Thou sendest blessings from above
Through words and deeds of those who love.

What greater gift dost thou bestow,
What greater goodness can we know
Than Christ-like friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.

When such a friend from us departs
We hold forever in our hearts
A sweet and hallowed memory,
Bringing us nearer, Lord, to thee.

For worthy friends whose lives proclaim
Devotion to the Savior's name,
Who bless our days with peace and love,
We praise thy goodness Lord above.
